In Bam, Iran, December 25, 2003 at 5:28 am, a powerful earthquake demolished the city and at least 30,000 people died. More than 1800 children lost their parents. In just 12 seconds, peoples’ lives were completely changed.
This is just one of the many catastrophes that happen around the world every year. As a concrete example of the reality that the Red Cross works in, a tent which was used after the earthquake in Bam is now set up and located inside the House of Humanity. In connection with the tent, there is also an exhibit about the earthquake and the Red Cross’ work there.
The tent seats about 30 people and can be used for different program activities. It can even be booked by groups and school classes as a meeting place.
