Refugee and yearning....

The UN refugee agency (UNHCR) estimates that 67 million people are refugees in the world today. 51 million of them are displaced within their home country.

Where do these people come from? Where do they go? What did they bring? What do they long for?

Did you know that...

Peace does not just mean absence of war. Even more so, it implies a dynamic process of cooperation between different governments and people. A cooperation grounded on freedom, independence, national sovereignty, respect for human rights, and a fair distribution of resources in order to satisfy the needs of all people.

These issues are being addressed in the exhibitionFlykt och längtan”. Facts and statistics are mixed with photographs and refugees own stories. The visitors can also play a board game by UNHCR to enter into the everyday life at a refugee camp. As in the other exhibitions in the House of Humanity the visitors are given links to concrete action.
